About Me

Alhusam Al Harthy is an electrical and computer engineering student in his senior year at Oregon state university. Alhusam focusing on power systems in his senior year. September 2019 he finished an internship at Occidental Petroleum as a power engineer. Alhusam is more interesting in high voltage power and designing power systems as control systems. He is working in the indoor climbing center at the Recreational Sports department in the university as an indoor/outdoor climbing instructor. Summer 2020, he started an undergrad research assistant with Professor Ted Breken in an Earthquake Resilience of the Western Power Grid. The project studies the impact of earthquakes in the power grid and the equipment of it on the west coast of the United States area (Cascadia Zone).
